In conjunction with the 55th Independence Day, several events were held in Gugusan Manjoi and Tanjung Rambutan, organized by the Unity and Peace Development Council of Tambun Parliament from 31 August to 2 September 2012.
On August 31, 2012 at Mini Stadium Kg. Sungai Tapah at 8:30 pm, Forum Perdana Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan ke-55 was held. The panel members were Datin Paduka Prof. Dr. Ramlah Adam, Ust. Harith Fadzlilah and Ust. Fathul Bari Mat Jahaya. Also present were Dato' Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah (Tambun MP) and Dato' Nazri Ismail (Manjoi assemblyman).
At the ceremony, Dato' Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah also gave away monetary contribution to some orphanages in Tambun Parliament.

On 1 September 2012, Karnival Nasyid Sempena Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan ke-55 was held at 8.00 pm, also at Mini Stadium Kg.Sungai Tapah. The carnival was sent abuzz with the appearance of nasyeed personalities such as Rabbani and Fauziah Gambus. The ceremony was concluded with a fireworks display.

On Sept 2. 2012, Independence Day celebrations were held at Parliament Tambun Padang Awam Tg. Rambutan at 8.00 am. Various events were held, such as a tiger dance and cheerleader shows. People from all walks of life joined the ceremony.
