IPOH, Oct 8 (Bernama) - Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), which is
the main focus of the government in Budget 2012, will complete the
transformation plan, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni
Hanadzlah.
He said the RTP will complete the transformation plan announced previously, the Government Transformation Programme (GTP).
"Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) had previously established GTP, the economic transformation program, to put the country
into a developed nation status.
"Budget 2012 presentation reflects his leadership philosophy by introducing 1Malaysia: People First, Performance Now," he told reporters after
handing over a lot of land to 20 people in Jalan Datuk, Kampung Manjoi,
here today.
In Budget 2012, RM1 billion has been allocated to implement RTP
and over RM5 billion to upgrade basic infrastructure, and this includes
building a network of 2,749 km of roads that will benefit 2.76 million
rural residents.
Ahmad Husni said the RTP, when implemented, will bring huge benefits to
the rural population in terms of infrastructure, the economy and jobs.
He is also Member of Parliament for Tambun, denied allegations that the 2012 Budget is "election budget".
